BLACK SATIN
Dark, exotic and one of the heaviest songs on this album. Mr. Malmberg did couple very nasty drum fills on this one, and like all the songs on this album, he played like a human machine with a twisted groove. This is also one of the tunes where Yugi (keyboards) and I, both did our own solo.

XENOPIA
The title explain itself, it’s wrong spelled finnish language and translated literally as ”the fast one”.

UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN
It just happened. Suddenly this beautiful melody just came into my mind and I’m clad that I’ve had a guitar and tape recorder available at that moment. Even it took only ten minutes to wrote ”Until we meet again”, I’m sure that I’m gonna play this song for the rest of my life. This is one of my all-time favorite guitar ballads ever.

ELEPHANT BOY
Even though I like every song on this album, this is my personal favorite. If ”Until We Meet Again” was an easy one to wrote, this one was comlitely opposite.During whole writing process, this melody lurking in my head and after month or so, I was finally capable to get it out of my system. This was the last song I wrote for this album.

EMERALDS
I wrote this song’s intro (main theme) when I was very young. I think it was mid-80’s or something. I was very inspired after I saw a strange dream where I played this particular tune and the first thing when I woke up, I picked up a guitar and figured it out. Many years later when I started to work with this project, I re-arranged this little song and decided to use it like a interlude between ”Elephant Boy ”and ”The Punisher”. It was Yugi’s (keyboards) idea to use piano and string on a final version.

THE PUNISHER
Rage…Hatred…Revenge…This-song-is-about-Frank…

RAINMAKER
An old song. This was one of the first songs I ever demoed. I used portable fourtrack cassette recorder and drum machine and played all guitars and bass by myself. The original version was pretty much the same than final album version except there’s no keyboards at all. When we played this song in rehearsals, it was Yugi who suggested to use Hammond to dublicate the rhythm guitar parts. For some reason good ol’ Hammond sounds so well with my music that we ended up using it almost every song on this album.

SNOWFLAKE
Weird but beautyful intro. When heavenly creatures talks to each other it maybe sounds exactly like this. This is a pure pop song. I was probably overdosed by sugar when I wrote this one.

WAKIZASHI
That ”koto” sounding clean guitar part at the ending (outro) of the song was the last thing that I played for this album. We recorded (at east) six different guitar tracks backwards, forwards, tapped w/crazy whammy bendings etc. and mixed them together to sound like one exotic string instrument. I used Jackson guitar and Ampeg amp.The title ”Wakizashi” is a traditional Japanese sword and used only to commit seppuku (i.e. hara-kiri).

SIRENA SONG
A perferct marriage between heavy metal crunch and a hawaiian guitar. If you listen very carefully you know what I mean.
